Blue tile street markers were the original street signs in Houston, going back almost a hundred years–as far as the 1920s. In 2015, Joey Sanchez founded the Blue Tile Project not only to document Houston’s iconic historical signs, but also to expand on them for current and future generations to enjoy. You can find a map of all current blue tile locations here.
If you are interested in buying them, individual blue tiles can be purchased from the Blue Tile Project, or you can have them professionally installed by Curb Appeal Blues (tiles included and pricing determined by the number of characters).
