1. The Breakfast Klub

Address3711 Travis St, Houston, TX 77002
Websitewww.thebreakfastklub.com
FoodWings and grits, breakfast sandwiches, omelet, salads
Our RecommendationPancakes with pecans, strawberry, and bacon

The breakfast club is a family-run restaurant with a homely feel. The heavy wooden furniture, fitting artwork, and plants dotted around give the place a real homely feel when you walk in. And the staff are amiable and make you feel very welcome throughout your whole dining experience.

The pancakes here came as a stack of three buttermilk pancakes, with two eggs and then a choice of other toppings. The pancakes were fluffy and had plentiful toppings. We went for the pecan, strawberry, and bacon, the portion sizes of which were good enough.

There is the option to have the pancakes as a vegetarian, but unfortunately, there were no vegan pancakes available, although there is an extensive menu of other items which a vegan may find something suited to them,

The prices here were average to high. For example, the pancakes without chosen toppings came up at $16.55. But there was an option to get just single ones for as little as $3.95, so you don’t have to opt for the whole shebang.

They have a good selection of hot and cold drinking’s, including coffees, shakes, teas, and juices.

Our RecommendationRed velvet pancakes with cream cheese icing

Barnaby’s Cafe is a great, family-friendly restaurant run by a fun-loving team. The staff all strive to be energetic, welcoming and provide brilliant service.

Their menu is fun, quirky, and eye-catching, making it an excellent destination for young ones and families with children. The children’s menu is also extensive, and your little ones will not struggle to find something they enjoy!

There are a few options to choose from for pancakes, such as the classical stack of buttermilk pancakes and the seasonal fruit with banana, walnut, blueberry, apple, and pecans. However, the one that stood out for us was our recommendation, the red velvet pancakes with cream cheese icing. These were fantastic, a real show stopper, and well worth a visit.

There are options available for vegetarians and other dietary requirements here, and if you can’t see it on the menu, just speak to one of the staff, who all seemed happy to help with any customer requests.

The prices were very reasonable, especially considering the portion sizes, which are also great. The pancakes we had were priced at $11.50, which pretty much sums up the average price for the rest of the menu.

They also have a small menu of hot and cold beverages and juices.

Snooze A.M. uses sustainable cooking and puts a creative twist on its breakfast dishes, making them stand out from most other breakfast restaurants.

They have a few options for the pancake menu: the pumpkin pecan pie pancakes, pineapples upside-down pancakes, or if you fancy a bit of everything, why not try out their pancake flight, where you can choose three different ones.

And when it comes to people looking for vegetarian options, you’re lucky as these guys have a,

  • vegan pancakes option

Websitewww.harryshtx.com
FoodBiscuits, full breakfasts, omelets, pancakes, fried chicken, breakfast sandwiches
Our RecommendationPancake Omelette

Harry restaurants is an all-around brilliant breakfast destination. Although pancakes aren’t the main attraction on their menu, we were glad we went and tried them because the ones they do have on offer are fantastic.

The pancakes come with scrambled eggs, house blend cheese, and a choice of ham, bacon, or sausage. The portions were massive, so unless you have a huge appetite, we recommend sharing this between 2 people. Everything was cooked perfectly and served lovely and hot by smiling waiters and waitresses.

To top off the pancakes, all the sides, extras, and other menu options are also on point, and you will find yourself spoilt for choice with their extensive menu. The pancakes are also gluten-free should you be dining with anyone with this requirement.

The prices here are great for the portion sizes you get, and it is most definitely worth the money. You can expect to spend between $10.00 and $15.00.

A children’s menu is also available, which offers plenty of choices, such as grilled cheese sandwiches, chicken strips, french toast, and oatmeal, all for under $6.50.

Our RecommendationPancake Sandwich

Le Peep is a restaurant that prides itself on offering an all-around quality experience in quality cooking, sustainable ingredients, and excellent service. They, indeed, live up to expectations.

The menu here is clean-cut and, although extensive. Despite some of the items being loaded with sugary goodness, every dish is calorie counted, so whether you’re indulging or watching your calorie intake, everything is in your hands. You know precisely what you’re consuming.

The pancake options here are beautiful; they were fluffy, light, and not over-facing; although the portion sizes were large, nothing felt too naughty.

The servers were all very friendly and helpful with discussing the menu. All the dishes were well garnished and well presented, making them appealing immediately upon delivery.

There are a couple of options for vegetarians, but there wasn’t a massive choice, but we got the impression that the staff and chefs would be quite accommodating if this were something that you required.

Another broken egg cafe is a high-standard breakfast joint with a classy and unique menu. They have something a little different to offer in terms of food concoctions if you’re looking for something other than the classic pancake options.

They pride themselves on providing quirky twists to classic dishes, using the finest ingredients, and presenting their dishes to an “instagramable” standard.

As well as the exceptional food quality, the whole experience at Another Broken Egg Cafe is fun and memorable and will most definitely keep you wanting to come back for more.

The pancakes live up to the same standard as the rest of the menu. They are cooked perfectly, packed with good-quality, fresh ingredients, and presented beautifully, be sure to try our above recommendation and the Bourbon Street Pancakes, which are outstanding.

There were vegetarian pancake options available, but we didn’t see any vegan varieties. However, there is plenty more to choose from on the menu. There is also an option for gluten-free pancakes.

The prices here are in line with many other reviews in our guide, with the average spend for a good breakfast being around the $10.00-$12.00 mark.

7. Toasters

Websitewww.toasterscafe.com
FoodWaffles, pancakes, french toast, steak tacos, eggs benedict, country breakfast
Our RecommendationApple and pecan pancakes with pan-fried sausage patties

Toasters are a small breakfast restaurant off the beaten path in downtown Houston. They use entirely fresh ingredients, and everything is cooked fresh to order. Just the spot if you’re looking for a morning snack or full breakfast.

Their menu is brilliant, and they have some great options unique to themselves. One of the dishes that stood out regarding the pancake options was the apple and pecan, we opted to have the pan-fried sausage as an accompaniment, but there are also other options available. Everything was cooked just to our liking and served piping hot and in good time.

All of the pancake options can be requested to be served as a vegetarian, but, like other restaurants in our guide, vegans may have fewer options to choose from. However, they offer a sweet potato pancake that can be served with veggies instead of the advertised meat selection.

Once again, when it comes to spending, you should expect to spend around $10.00 – $12.00 on your breakfast.

FoodPancakes, french toast, omelets, Belgium waffles, donuts, Arnolds
Our RecommendationButtermilk Pancakes

The Toasted Yolk Cafe is an ever-expanding breakfast restaurant venue, bringing a modern way of breakfast dining to Houston.

Although they may not be a pancake-focused restaurant like some of our other recommendations, The Toasted Yolk is well worth taking the time out of your day to visit. And the buttermilk pancakes we tried were some of the best. They were mouthwateringly good, simplistic, and super fresh with everything you could want out of a pancake.

Alongside the pancakes, the rest of the menu is also well worth checking out. They have a modern menu with plenty of choices.

The pancakes are vegetarian, but they are the classic buttermilk pancakes. This means any vegans dining with you would have to check out the rest of the menu to suit their requirements.

All of the pancake and waffle menu items come up below $10.50, with the pancakes costing only $9.42. Thus, making it slightly lower in price than some of our other choices, but still average overall.
