I am a regular visitor to Houston and even lived here for a brief period; I have family here and often have to stay for long periods for work, and being the big food lover that I am, you can bet your bottom dollar I’ve had my fair share of meals in the city, some amazing, some perhaps not so much. But we’ll leave those out of it.
For research alone, of course, I’ve had the pleasure of trying out numerous hibachi restaurants in Houston. I’ve been able to narrow it down to the best ones.

Where to Find The Best Hibachi Restaurants in Houston?
The restaurants I will discuss today each have their own particular selling point, mainly the amazing food, but also regarding service, themes, menus, and prices.
Although I’ve picked out what I believe to be the best Hibachi restaurants in Houston, I have also ensured I’ve included a fair mixture of price ranges. After all, sometimes it’s nice to splash the readies, but other times a good old-fashioned budget dinner will suffice and cure a craving.

If you’re visiting the Montrose district of Houston and searching for an excellent Hibachi restaurant, then good news, you’ve found it.
Everything about this restaurant is fabulous, which is why it’s one of the first that springs to mind when I think about the best Hibachi restaurants in Houston.
Not only does this place offer an excellent, inspiring Hibachi display, but on top of that, the end result, meaning the food, of course, is out of this world. I put this down to the chef’s knowledge of the cuisines and superior, fresh ingredients.
My recommendation is the combination dishes. It means you get to try a bit of everything, something which I always advise when trying somewhere for the first time. You can choose between steak, chicken, calamari, or shrimp. They’re also generous on the portion sizes here, so depending on your hunger levels, these are usually enough for two people.
Suppose you wanted to go for something else off the menu. In that case, however, there’s plenty to choose from and tons of combination choices, including swordfish, beef tenderloin, N.Y strip, lobster, and filet mignon.
Unfortunately, you may start to notice a pattern in these Hibachi restaurants, in that there isn’t a vast selection available for people who don’t eat meat or seafood; however, if you keep reading, you’ll be sure to find somewhere that suits all your diners culinary desires, so don’t give up yet.

Can I begin by saying how much I love Sushi? So, when I find places like this that serve some of the best Sushi in town and have the option of Hibachi, I’m there like a shot.
I found it hard not to recommend this one, mainly because everything is fantastic. If you’re going, order as much as possible and choose a combination of sushi dishes you can munch your way through while your chef fires up the grill in front of you.
Aside from the mind-blowing food, everything about this place, including the service, decor, and general ambiance, come together to make a perfect dining experience. It’s great for families, birthdays, and even date nights if you want to surprise your better half with something a little out-of-the-ordinary.
This restaurant opened just a few years ago, around 2018. However, I didn’t hear about it until 2020, and it’s now become one of my regular haunts when I’m craving Japanese food.

If you’re after something more reasonably priced, then this Hibachi restaurant in Houston might align with what you’re looking for.
Is it just me, or does anyone else hear the word buffet and get a rush of excitement? I’m sure I’m not alone there, right? Let’s move on.
There isn’t one particular dish I can talk about here and stand out from the rest because each time I’ve visited, there is such a vast display of food that seems to change all the time, so my advice is to go and try a bit of everything.
But of course, you’re not here for the buffet; you’re here for the Hibachi, and I wouldn’t have bought this place up if I didn’t think this was also excellent; of course, it is. It’s just a bonus: I can work through the stretch of snacks while waiting for my Hibachi course to be fired up.
Now, I’ve heard a couple of people mention that they didn’t think the service was entirely up to par here; however, to be perfectly honest with you, I’ve been a handful of times and never seen anything to back this up, so as far as I’m concerned, they deliver on service and food quality. The price is reasonable too.

Okay, so I’ll admit something here, the first thing that drew me to this steakhouse was the name. If you love the hit TV show Friends, you’ll already know what I’m talking about. Remember Joey with his
“lipstick for men” commercial?
Unfortunately, no servers are wearing blue lipstick here, but what there is, is fantastic food.
To start with, remember before I said I’d find something for all you veggies and vegans, well you’ve found it, at last.
This restaurant offers some amazing seafood and meat dishes, and they have a vegetarian option on their Hibachi dinner menu. This low-cost dish comes with salad, Hibachi grilled mixed vegetables, and steamed or fried rice, all for only $11.95.
As this place specializes in Hibachi alone, it means there are many options to add to your plate. I’ve recommended the Scallop and Teriyaki Chicken, but you know what? All the combinations are fabulous; I’d also highly recommend the Calamari Steak.
There is also a great selection of side dishes to accompany, including warm water lobster tail if you’re feeling fancy.
5. Hibachi Grill and Buffet Houston

Here I am again with my love for buffets. But once you’ve visited this Hibachi restaurant in Houston, you’ll be shouting about it too.
Aside from my love for Sushi, another weak spot of mine has to be Dim Sum, and this place delivers some of the tastiest Dim Sum in town.
One of the most impressive things about this place is the massive variety of food. Considering this, it’s incredible how they managed to serve everything cooked to perfection and kept hot, but they did it. And, yes, once again, there are plenty of choices for vegetarians, see I told you I wouldn’t let you down.
One of the reasons this Hibachi grill is so popular, aside from the great food and outstanding selection, is the price. I don’t know how they do it, but I’m not complaining, and I doubt you will be either.
6. Bluefin Sushi Japanese Restaurant

I’m slightly undecided on this, so don’t quote me. Still, I think this could just be some of the best Japanese food I’ve eaten in Texas for so many reasons, but let me start with the main one, the Hibachi dishes all come with a side of hot onion broth and fried rice, which you often have to pay extra for, and let me tell you, the broth is to die for.
There are many choices to have with Hibachi dinner, including scallops, lobster, steak, shrimp, and vegetarian options.
The prices for the Hibachi menu here are slightly higher than some of the others I’ve discussed, but they aren’t too expensive; in fact, I find it more than reasonable for the portion size. For example, the Hibachi Chicken is only $21.00 with all sides.
If you want to steer towards something a little cheaper, there is plenty more to choose from. The sushi menu is incredibly priced for its quality. It has some fabulous specials, too, such as the Fire Tuna Roll and Kelmon Roll, which are new to the menu. These are all priced between $12.00 and $15.00.
Suppose you’re dining with a larger party. In that case, they have some excellent entrees for sharing, such as a 26-piece sushi platter for $71.00 or a 16-piece sashimi plate for only $23.00, which is a brilliant deal when we’re talking about fresh seafood.
7. Jellyfish

Jellyfish creates some unique flavor combinations in Japanese cuisine. Jellyfish outdoes itself when delivering exquisite tastes and delicious dishes.
Suppose you’re like me and like to mix things up when dining at Hibachi restaurant. In that case, you’ll be bowled over by the number of sushi dishes available. Some of these include spicy scallops, freshwater eel, octopus, smoked salmon, peppercorn tuna, and escolar, amongst many others.
Regarding the Hibachi, I’d recommend the Splash and Meadow, and fun little wordplay there on the classic surf and turf you’d usually find on a menu. This dish combines jumbo shrimp and steak, grilled on the flames before you while you watch on, mouthwatering. Like the restaurant I recommended earlier, this also comes with a delectable Japanese onion soup, steamed rice, and a fresh ginger salad, which compliments that salty meat perfectly.
Another dish I recently tried here was the Shrimp, Lime, and Cilantro Noodles, which were cooked and tossed in a stunning yuzu butter sauce, something I plan to order again.
The pricing is what’s expected, considering the theater that goes into the Hibachi service and the quality of the fresh produce. If you’re coming for the Hibachi alone, expect to spend around $20.00 on your course.
