Top 5 Hotels in River Oaks, Houston

I’ve been coming to Houston for a long time since I was a child.

My family and friends live in Houston, and I often travel here for work. It means I spend a lot of time hotel hopping and visiting various parts of the city.

River Oaks is one of the more affluent areas of Houston, so I often come here when I am looking for a fancy retreat, want to enjoy a spa weekend, or treat myself to an upscale shopping trip.

So, as I’ve had the pleasure of staying in all of these amazing, lavish hotels, I thought it would be a good idea to share those with you so the next time you’re planning a trip to River Oaks, Houston, you’ll know just where to stay to get the most luxurious, and elegant experience.

Hotels in River Oaks – My Top Rated Selections

I’ve been digging around during my stay at these hotels to give you only the best.

I’ve compared prices, service, room quality, and hotel facilities to ensure you have the most memorable and convenient stay.

Let’s look at the cream of the crop of hotels in River Oaks, Houston.

Here we go!

1. The St. Regis Houston

The St. Regis Hotel by The Marriott Group exceeded my expectations, even compared to other Marriotts I’ve stayed at. Let’s face it. They’re all known for their great service and amenities.

I loved having the Galleria Shopping Mall, one of Houston’s most significant shopping areas, on my doorstep.

The rooms here are beautifully designed and elegant, with a contemporary design to suit most styles. They’re also very well-lit, with large windows that let in a lot of natural light, which many hotels lack.

I’m a huge food lover, so wherever I stay, one of the first things I do is check out the restaurants. I always have to try it for breakfast and dinner at least once.

You’ve got to sample the goods on the grounds before you venture out, right?

The restaurant at St. Regis is called The Remmington, and it serves some fantastic classic American cuisine, with a complimentary breakfast and dishes such as Butter-Braised Lobster, Maple Seared Duck, and Tequila Shrimp Tacos for dinner.

They’re open all day for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner, starting at 5:00 pm. It’s a little on the pricey side, but well worth it.

2. Courtyard by Marriott Houston Brookhollow

If you like something a little out of the ordinary that stands out from your average city hotel, Courtyard by Marriott will appeal to you.

The other thing that will appeal to many is the low price tag. It’s undoubtedly what first drew me to it.

For such a low-cost room, I was impressed by the facilities and amenities inside and in the rest of the hotel.

There’s a fabulous restaurant, a swimming pool, a business center, and a 24-hour front desk where the staff is accommodating.

It’s an excellent option if you’re vacating with the family because there are options to have interconnected rooms, which is always a good idea if you’ve got older teens. Kids’ TV channels and plenty of options for little ones on the restaurant and breakfast menu are also available in the rooms.

I stayed at the lovely Lancaster Hotel when I recently visited the Theater District; I wanted to treat myself to something lavish while not going overboard on the spending.

This historic boutique hotel is something else, and I loved every second of my time here.

There’s an intimate dining area, which serves some fantastic food, a tremendous onsite coffee shop, and a complimentary breakfast available each morning, all delicious and freshly cooked.

If you’re not feeling the buffet breakfast, you can always head to the restaurant and have something made to order.

Overall, this is a stunning hotel with an eclectic vibe that will make any stay memorable and unique.

4. Club Quarters Hotel, Houston

Club Quarters is a stylish, upbeat hotel, with a contemporary vibe, right in the heart of the city and within walking distance of all my favorite attractions.

I love the rooms here. I stayed in one of the suites, and it felt like a home away from home, but with loads of added extras that make it feel even more special.

The rooms are spacious, equipped with a kitchenette, workspace, comfortable seating area, and even more comfortable kingsize beds.

Suppose you depend on public transport while you’re here. In that case, you’ll have no trouble getting around as the light rail is right outside, so you can quickly get to attractions such as the Museum District.

One downside I had at this hotel was that while it was generally clean, there was little done regarding housekeeping during my stay. It could have been more frequent and consistent because I had to request towels and toiletries several times. However, this didn’t hinder my experience too much.
