10 Best Hotels With Restaurants in Houston, TX

Houston is becoming an increasingly popular destination for travelers, with so much to do in sightseeing, activities, and outstanding eateries. Having spent many years visiting Houston, I have become familiar with many hotels. I like to try and make each experience new and exciting.

Sometimes, when staying in Houston for a short period, I often stay there to dine in the evening rather than venturing out. I’ve had my fair share of amazing and not-so-amazing meals.

I think over the years, and there has been much more competition when it comes to hotel restaurants. I remember when they were simply there for convenience and had some very basic menu options. Today, however, it’s possible to find some extremely high-quality fine dining without ever having to leave the confines of your hotel. This is why I put this guide together to tell you about some of the best hotel restaurants in Houston.

10 Best Houston Hotels With Restaurants

During this guide, I will give you an in-depth review of my favorite hotels in Houston with restaurants. I will tell you about the cuisine and what dining options are included in the room price. I will also give you a few recommendations for dishes.

As well as talking about the restaurant, I will also let you know some other important aspects about the hotels, such as what leisure facilities they have, like swimming pools and jacuzzis, and whether or not they have an on-site gym.

I have tried to include a good variety of hotels regarding location so that whether you’re visiting Houston for business or pleasure, you’ll find a spot that’s perfect for you.

Lastly, you’ll notice I have given you a price per Night for each Houston hotel; this doesn’t mean this is the exact price you’ll pay, but it is to provide you with more of an idea. Your price will, of course, vary depending on the time of year you visit and your length of stay.

So, let’s look at the best hotels in Houston with restaurants for you to make the most of your time while visiting Houston.

Cambria Hotel Downtown Convention Center Houston is perfect for visiting local attractions such as Discovery Green and Minute Maid Park. It is also great if you’re in town to catch a show, as the Theatre District is within walking distance of the hotel.

If you’re traveling with the entire family, this place is excellent, as kids stay free, and there is plenty to see and do without traveling too far from the hotel. I highly recommend visiting the Magic, Music, and Mayhem museum. It’s fantastic, well-priced, and provides magical, mind-blowing entertainment for people of all ages. Plus, it’s only a six-minute walk from the hotel, so there’s no excuse not to check it out. Trust me; you won’t be disappointed.

The on-site restaurant is called The Rig and serves some authentic Texan-style dishes, ranging from tapas-style plates to mammoth portions, so no matter how hungry you are, you can grab the perfect-sized meal. If you’re after a tipple, I highly recommend the tequila and taco flight.

Club Quarters Hotel in Downtown Houston is excellent for exploring the city with easy links to the light rail and George. R. Brown Convention Center. Also, if you love to party, grab your favorite pair of cowboy boots, and head out on the town to enjoy a proper Texan knees-up.

The hotel boasts luxurious facilities, such as an impressive business center, gym, spa, and a beautiful, modern bar and lounge area. These are places where guests can relax and unwind at the end of the day.

The on-site restaurant serves some great food, with a great selection of continental breakfast; unfortunately, this isn’t included in the price of your room. It’s a bistro-style setting, offering some excellent chef-driven meals, for a reasonable price, within a modern, stylish environment.

The rooms are spacious, and there are plenty of facilities within them to make your meals if you wish, as each one has a fully equipped kitchen with utensils and cooking appliances. The beds are super comfortable, and the temperature in the hotel is perfect during a Texan heatwave due to efficient air conditioning within the rooms.

The general customer service throughout the hotel is fabulous, whether at the front desk or in the restaurant.

Holiday Inn in Downtown Houston is a great hotel that follows the same quality and standards as most Holiday Inn’s I have stayed in around the world. Although they appear to be a basic budget hotel, you’d be surprised at the facilities they offer and what you get for your money.

This branch, in particular, is probably up there with one of the best I’ve stayed at regarding cleanliness and service.

The Metrorail is right across the street, so no matter where you need to get in the city, you can be there within minutes.

The restaurant at the hotel is called Burger Theory, and its main focus is classic American cuisine and, you guessed it, fantastic burgers. What I love the most about this is that you can build your burger, making the options endless. The quality blows my mind every time; then again, I am a sucker for a decent burger.

The hotel restaurant also offers an out-of-this-world breakfast that stands out from most other in-house breakfasts you will have had before; tons more options change daily, which I think is fabulous, especially if staying for a longer duration.

4. Courtyard by Marriott Houston Intercontinental Airport

Courtyard by Marriott Houston Intercontinental Airport

The Courtyard by Marriott is a popular choice to stay in Houston, and that’s not just my opinion; the reviews this place gets speak for themselves.

There are several reasons why this is such a hot spot, from the fabulous fitness center, which is available 24 hours a day, to the spotlessly clean, modern bedrooms that boast an amazing view of Houston.

However, my favorite part, as usual, is the top-notch cuisine. The menu here is quite limited, which might not be to everyone’s preference. Still, I always believe it’s more about quality than quantity, and boy, do these guys deliver on quality.

The continental breakfast is available for an extra fee of $10.00, which I know you might frown upon. It is always nice to have breakfast included. However, they do pull out all the stops regarding quality and service. And, I have to say again, this place also has some incredible burgers on the menu, which you must try at least once during your stay; they’re probably the best thing on the menu.

The hotel has its tennis court if this is something you’re into. It also has a stunning patio area with comfortable furniture. It is a great place to relax with a glass of your favorite tipple from the bar at the end of the day.

5. The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria

The Westin Oaks Houston at the Galleria

If you’re looking for glamor and luxury, then The Westin Oaks will be up your street. Speaking from personal experience, they will make sure that your entire stay is a complete delight from start to finish.

Firstly, I have to mention the newly installed gym, which, although I didn’t use when I stayed, I went for a nosey around. I can honestly say it’s probably the best in-hotel gym I have come across. They have plenty of equipment, loads of space, and tons of free weights.

The hotel has plenty of lavish amenities, such as an outdoor pool, squash court, nearby bowling facilities, and sun loungers.

The hotel has been recently renovated, which means everything feels brand new, clean, and modern while remaining classy and traditional.

Now that you’re here for the food, let’s just say you won’t be disappointed with this fine-dining menu they provide. However, be prepared to reach deep into those pockets, as even the breakfast will set you back $30.00 a head on top of your already pricey room cost. However, if you’re looking for high-class service and exceptional standards, this will make the perfect destination for any special occasion.

Oh, and it’s also pet-friendly for those traveling with their four-legged friends.

6. The Sam Houston Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton

If, like me, you’re a bit of a history buff and love old buildings and historical sites. Out of all the hotels I’ve talked about today, this is probably the one you’re already on your way to booking, and you should!

The building in which lies the Sam Houston Hotel, having been built in 1924, is now on the National Register for Historical Places, which I think is special enough as it is, but then you go inside.

Once you set foot inside the hotel, you’ll be greeted with captivating decor, enchanting architecture, and something new and fascinating to see around every corner, making it one of my all-time favorite hotels in Houston.

Okay, so what about the food, I hear you say? Don’t worry; you’ll continue to be blown away in this department too. The restaurant is called The Pearl and serves classic dishes such as steak and salad. Their breakfast is also brilliant, so I highly recommend indulging in that. The restaurant’s setting tops off the experience with cool decor, wooden walls, and low ceilings. It’s super unique, cozy, and atmospheric.

The Marriott Marquis is another of my absolute favorite places to stay in Houston, and I must admit it’s just because of the restaurant. It’s because of the astounding lazy river they have on the rooftop! Yes – you read that right. However, I’m not here to go on about that today, but if you want to learn more, you can find everything you need to know in my guide to the best hotels in Houston with a Lazy River.

The hotel offers a welcoming touch of class, the staff is attentive, and the rooms are incredibly spacious and well-equipped with everything you need, such as cable TV, a refrigerator, complimentary toiletries, and on-demand movies.

The dining options are endless here, with not just one but six restaurants and lounges on-site. So you can enjoy a variety of cuisines without ever having to leave the hotel. I would recommend trying them all, whether it’s for your morning coffee or a wine tasting. Still, if you’re looking for an exceptional meal, then Xochi by Hugo Ortega is the one to go for, offering some fabulous Mexican-orientated dishes.

Are you thinking about visiting Houston’s West End? If so, I recommend you book in at the Houston Marriott Westchase. The hotel is Texan-themed, with intriguing decor and spacious rooms. It also has an AAA, three-diamond rating, so as you can imagine, the service and amenities are all top-notch.

The staff at the front desk are friendly and accommodating, and the housekeeping is on point and done regularly to an extremely high standard.

There are two restaurants at the hotel and Starbucks to grab a reliably good coffee in the morning.

At The Republic Grill Restaurant, you can grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and the other, called The Republic Lounge, where you can enjoy some classic Southwestern dishes.

The breakfast at the hotel is also excellent, but the buffet will set you back an extra $25.00 a head.

The Autograph Collection hotels by the Marriott group are renowned for being a cut above the rest regarding prestige service and top-class amenities, and The Laura Hotel is no different.
