10 Best Hotels Near an Airport in Houston, TX

Suppose you’re only planning to stay in Houston for a short time, perhaps overnight, for a work errand or a meeting. In that case, your primary concern won’t be finding places to stay near all the top attractions or best restaurants but more about the convenience of the proximity to the airport.

As someone who stays in Houston regularly for work and pleasure, I have stayed in my fair share of great and not-so-great hotels.

Just because you want your stayover to be convenient doesn’t mean you should have to compromise on quality and good service. This is why I have put together this informative guide, using my own personal knowledge and experience, to find you the best hotels near airports in Houston, TX.

10 Best Airport Hotels For You in Houston, TX

Included in my reviews are hotels with a range of different amenities and favored qualities so that by the time you’ve read through them, you’ll be able to pick the perfect location to suit your needs while staying in Houston.

I have included many hotels with great business centers and workspaces if you’re traveling for work. Some with excellent links to the Houston Medical Center if you’re awaiting treatment or visiting a relative and need to be close by overnight.

I have also included some hotels that have easy access to some of Houston’s main attractions, just in case your reason for wanting to be close to the airport is your hatred for a commute after a long flight, which I can relate to.

Lastly, you’ll see I’ve included a price per night section. This is the average price available at the time of writing this article; however, depending on when you book and the time you visit, the cost can vary. The price I’ve mentioned is also just for a standard room, suites, or family rooms, and added extras will, of course, set you back a bit more.

So, without further ado, let’s check out my top picks for the best hotels near airports in Houston.

1. Hilton Garden Inn Houston Hobby Airport

This stylish and up-market hotel is an excellent landing spot if you are looking for a hotel to bed in close to Houston Hobby Airport. Staying just one mile from the airport and with plenty of shuttle services and reliable cab companies nearby, you can eliminate the worry of missing your flight.

The thing I love about this hotel is that not only is it right near one of Houston’s main airports, but it’s also not too far from some of my favorite places to visit, such as Houston Zoo and the Space Center.

There is a fabulous on-site restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner where you can get an excellent, freshly-cooked breakfast in the morning, included in your room price.

There is free parking at the hotel and other handy extras such as high-speed Wifi, a free shuttle service, a convenience store, and a dry cleaning and laundry service.

If you’d like to dine out nearby, there are plenty of options. Two that I can personally recommend are Pappasito’s Cantina and Pappas Burgers, where you must try the peppercorn ranch burger and skinny fries.

2. The Post Oak Hotel

Okay, so who doesn’t like to splurge now and then and stay somewhere luxurious, especially when it’s on the company bill, right? So, if you’re lucky enough to get the chance to stay here at The Post Oak Hotel, make sure that you take advantage of everything they have to offer to get the most for your money.

For example, some of the luxuries you can appease yourself at this hotel include a yoga room, heated pool, state-of-the-art fitness center, poolside bar, steam room, and a spa where you can indulge in high-class treatments like massages, pedicures, and waxing. You can even get your makeup professionally done.

This impressive hotel towers 38 stories over Houston city, boasts the only AAA Five Diamond award in the town, and sits upon 10 acres of stunning oak-studded land. There are around 250 rooms, including family rooms, suites, and executive quarters. And, get this, the hotel has the largest ballroom in Uptown Houston.

To take things up a few more notches, if you aren’t impressed already, then I advise you to check out the two-story car showroom, which has Rolls-Royces, Bugattis, and Bentleys on show.

If you like to enjoy plenty of food and drink when you’re on vacation, then you won’t have to travel far for some fantastic consumables. There are six restaurants within this hotel, yes, six! There is also a wine cellar that is proud to stock over 30,000 bottles of wine, accumulating to around $5 million! Some of these vintage and rare bottles date back to the 1800s.

You probably realize you’ll never have to leave this abode during your stay, and you’d be right. However, if you want to venture into Uptown Houston to explore, I recommend taking a day trip to Buffalo Bayou or the Houston Arboretum and Nature Center.

If the sky-high price of the last hotel gave you palpitations, then worry not; here is something much more down-to-earth in terms of cost.

At around $100.00 per Night, I have used this hotel quite a few times when visiting Houston for a purposeful stay, such as visiting family or work. I am always impressed by what they offer for the small cost. For example, there is a complimentary breakfast, which includes some fantastic Texas-shaped waffles, which I am not ashamed to say, I order every time I visit.

Aside from the great breakfast options, there is also a reliable shuttle service to get you where you need to be on time. There is an excellent fitness suite, an outdoor pool, and a 24-hour front desk.

The staff is all amiable and accommodating, and you can access baggage storage and express check-in and check-out.

The restaurant at the hotel is lovely, but if you want to dine out, I recommend visiting Gumbo Jeaux’s, just a five-minute walk from the hotel.

The motel comprises modern rooms with perfectly adequate amenities, such as flatscreen TVs, an outdoor pool, sun loungers, and a 24-hour front desk.

I mean, I won’t beat around the bush; this is not a luxury Houston holiday destination. Still, if you’re a seasoned traveler looking for a comfortable spot to bed down for the Night, this motel will suit you just fine.

The staff are all friendly, the internet is quick, the beds are comfy, and they serve fantastic coffee. What more can you ask for, $45.00 per Night?

One thing I always find useful, especially when traveling for work, is finding a hotel with a kitchenette. If I am flying solo, I don’t necessarily want to be dining out alone, and I would much prefer to stock up on goodies and fend for myself.

That’s the main reason I was first drawn to Best Western PLUS by Hobby Airport, as it’s got the kitchen facilities, as well as being located just one minute from the airport.

The rooms also have a handy workspace, which is ideal for me. I hate nothing more than arriving at a hotel and realizing I have to sit in bed on my laptop or at a pokey dressing table. So overall, this place hits the mark for anyone traveling on business.

As well as everything I’ve already mentioned, there is plenty more that this hotel has to offer. For instance, they have a great gym, daily housekeeping, free airport transportation, and a complimentary breakfast.

I stayed at this hotel when I met friends in town for our annual gathering at Houston Scream Fest back in October. This hotel was just ten minute’s walk from where it was taking place, so it seemed ideal.

I was impressed with the hotel’s cleanliness standards, the general service, comfortable bedrooms, and eye-pleasing decor.

The hotel offers a complimentary breakfast, which, of course, I indulged in and can highly recommend. There are most items you’d expect on offer, such as waffles, bagels, bacon, and eggs, and everything was perfectly cooked, hot, and fresh. You couldn’t ask for much more.

The airport shuttle was reliable, and the driver was extremely helpful and joined in with our silly Halloween excitement.

Overall, an excellent stay and somewhere I will be returning to for my next Scare Fest.

Super 8 by Wyndham is a little home-from-home, with cozy rooms that offer a comfortable bed, kitchen equipment, plenty of furnishings, and a super quiet area where you feel safe to spend the Night. Even if traveling alone, which is something I always appreciate when visiting any city.

There is plenty to do in the area. The last time I stayed, I visited quite a few lovely local restaurants, such as the Thai Jasmine Restaurant, where I enjoyed some beautiful sticky mango rice and Thai yellow curry. There is also an excellent Chinese restaurant nearby called China Star Seafood Buffet. You can enjoy seafood, including crawfish, oysters, and crab. They have some great sushi too.

The hotel has been recently renovated; however, I do still think it has a bit of an outdated feel to some parts of it. This does not take away from experience in any way, though. The staff is great, the price is excellent, and there are enough added extras to make your stay memorable.

Lastly, a hotel that often pops up in my recommendations due to its convenience, price, and location is La Quinta by Wyndham. These hotels always blow me away with their service and have some of the friendliest staff I’ve encountered. They seem to pride themselves on providing the best possible service they can to their guests.

I love the location of this hotel, and the beautiful grounds will have your mind tricked into thinking you’re nowhere near the busy Hobby Airport.

Just three miles from the hotel is the Sculpture Park, which is a tourist hot spot, and one you must ensure you stop by if this is your first time in Houston.
