I love hotel pools, but rooftop pools are extra special. In Houston, the city skyline view is spectacular, and lounging in a pool while admiring the night sky is unforgettable.

Our guide to the top 8 hotels and resorts with rooftop pool Houston, TX, will point you in the direction of the best hotels in the city to visit.

The 8 Most Stunning Rooftop Pools in Houston

I’ve chosen a range of hotels, from large, upscale hotels with everything you need under one roof to smaller, pet-friendly hotels with a chilled vibe. I’ll give you an overview of their key features and then move on to my opinions on why each one makes the cut.

So, in no particular order, here’s my list of 8 amazing stunning rooftop pools in Houston:

1. Embassy Suites by Hilton Hotel

FacilitiesRoofscape pool and spa, fitness center, WiFi, courtesy shuttle bus, restaurant, bar, gift shop, entertainment

Embassy Suites Houston Downtown by Hilton Hotel is a luxury hotel with a beautiful view of Discovery Green Park. The rooftop pool is beautiful, and we’d recommend going for a swim in the evening to get the best view of the city. There’s a rooftop spa here, too, and a 24-hour fitness center inside the hotel if you want to enjoy a workout.

The suites are beautiful. They have regular and corner suites. They also have accessible suites with roll-in showers, visual alarms, notification devices, low couches, and low beds. All rooms are clean, modern, and bright, with mini-refrigerators, microwaves, seating areas, WiFi, and TVs.

The location is a bonus. You’ll be within close range of the George R.Brown Convention Center, Discovery Green Park, Houston Rockets’ Toyota Center, and the theater district, which is well worth a visit. They have a courtesy shuttle bus for certain downtown destinations. I’d recommend Embassy Suites if you want somewhere luxurious to stay.

The Marriott Marquis Houston is a good spot if you want to go swimming with a view. It has more of a party atmosphere, so I’d recommend it if that’s your thing. They have three pools: the infinity pool, the Lazy River pool, and the whirlpool. You can also rent a poolside cabana (for 3-6 people, with chilled towels and bottled water) or a poolside pergola (for 2 people, also with chilled towels and bottled water). It’s a great place to have a party.

The rooms are lovely. They have several rooms to choose from, including rooms with a pool view, which are amazing for taking photographs. The rooms are bright and modern, with premium linens, WiFi, TVs, and mini-refrigerators.

You can also enjoy the spa with several treatments, including waxing, manicures/pedicures, and couples massages. The fitness center is well-equipped, with 24-hour access for guests. Plus, they have plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

If you want a luxurious experience, head to the Four Seasons Hotel in Houston. It has a rooftop resort-style pool which is perfect for lounging and taking in the views of the city. There are tons of chairs to lay back and relax in, and it’s ideal for families to enjoy too.

The rooms are gorgeous, with a modern, sleek look. They’re clean and spacious and have beautiful views of the city. There’s WiFi, mini-refrigerators, and other small touches that will make your stay more comfortable.

The spa services here are excellent. You can enjoy the Night Spa, open from 7 PM – 10 PM, for an extra special treat. This includes a range of treatments over 3 hours. I’d recommend trying the Southern Scrub & Dip, which starts with a Texas-made full-body scrub, an aloe milk bath, and a glass of limited-batch whiskey created exclusively for their bar, the Bayou and Bottle. You can’t beat spa treatments followed by whiskey!

FacilitiesRooftop plunge pool, whirlpool, 24-hour fitness center, restaurant

The Magnolia Hotel Houston is smaller than some of the others on this list, and that includes the pool, but I still think it’s worth a mention, especially if you want a quieter atmosphere. The rooftop plunge pool is small but quiet, so you can enjoy a peaceful swim during your stay. There’s also a whirlpool on the 23rd-floor deck, too. Both pools offer an incredible view of the city, especially at night.

The rooms are great, with some amazing city views. They’re clean, bright, and modern, with comfortable furnishings and features like WiFi, TVs, and walk-in closets.

There’s not as much to do here as some of the other hotels in Houston, but they have a restaurant, the Magnolia Lounge, which is a casual spot with family-friendly food available. There are many things to do nearby, including the popular urban park Discovery Green, escape rooms, sky diving, and more.

5. Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston

FacilitiesRooftop pool, fitness center, hair salon

Hyatt Regency Downtown Houston has a brilliant rooftop pool. It’s great to visit at night, as it gives an amazing view of the surrounding city skyline. I know this hotel doesn’t have as many amenities as some of the other hotels on this list, but I do think it’s a good choice if you want a pet-friendly hotel.

The rooms are recently refurbished. They’re modern, clean, and bright. All rooms have WiFi, and you can enjoy the laundry and concierge services too. The rooms are pet-friendly, so you can bring your furry companion along with you.

As well as the rooftop pool, there’s a fitness center, a hair salon, and two places to eat (a steak restaurant and a bagel shop). There are also babysitting services available if you need them.

FacilitiesRooftop pool, Wi-Fi, lobby library, fitness center, shuttle bus

Blossom Hotel Houston is located in the heart of Houston’s medical district. It has a gorgeous rooftop pool. It has a brilliant view of the surrounding buildings, and it’s a great place to relax.

The rooms are beautiful, and they’re all pet-friendly, so it’s a good place to go if you need to take your dog with you. The rooms have wi-fi, digital newspapers using the Press Reader service, and plenty of concierge services.

I particularly like Blossom Hotel for the Lobby Library. You can pick up a good book to enjoy poolside, which is always a bonus in my opinion. You can also go for a workout in their fitness centre, with multiple dining options and a bar for drinks. Plus, the complimentary shuttle ride takes you into Rice Village, Herman Park, and more.

7. Hotel ZaZa Museum District

Websitehttps://www.hotelzaza.com/houston?chebs=local-zazahouston
FacilitiesRooftop pool, Wi-Fi, spa, bar, restaurant
View on Booking.com

Hotel ZaZa Museum District sticks out in my mind as being one of the unique hotels in Houston. The rooftop pool is lovely, although it doesn’t have the same view as other hotel rooftop pools on this list. It’s surrounded by walls, which provides privacy and warmth on windy days, but it does cut you off from being able to see around you.

The rooms are what make this hotel unique. They have themed suites, like the Casa Blanca (red walls, low couches, and beautiful pillows) and the Villa Champagne (bohemian-style furnishings with comfortable sofas and a four-poster bed).

Hotel ZaZa also has good food, a decent bar, and a spa that includes salon services and custom-designed massages. You’re also right in the heart of the Museum District so that you can enjoy some excellent cultural landmarks, like the Museum of Fine Arts, Hermann Park, and Houston Zoo.

8. The Westin Houston, Memorial City

I don’t know about you, but I love an infinity pool. There is something special about relaxing in an infinity pool, especially when you have an incredible view. The Westin Houston has a gorgeous pool. I’d say this is one of the best pools on this list.

The rooms are lovely, with particularly comfortable beds (always important), with natural textures and fabrics. The suites, with small kitchenettes, are particularly nice, especially if you want to save money by not eating out for every meal. Pets are allowed, too, if you’re willing to pay a pet deposit, which is great.

You can also enjoy a fitness studio, Starbucks, and a gift shop. Plus, there are tons of restaurants located close to the hotel, so you can get some good food delivered to you.
