9 Best Kid-Friendly Hotels For Family Stay in Houston, TX

Planning a family holiday is really isn’t all it’s cracked up to be, and what seems like a great way to bring the family together for fun and activities can often result in you wishing you’d stayed at home. I agree; sometimes, it feels like the easier option.

However, once you’ve decided to take the plunge, test your patience, and get your family packed up for a vacation, one of the first things you’ll need to consider is where you’ll be staying.

So, if you’ve chosen Houston as your destination for a fun-packed family break, this guide to the best kid-friendly hotels in Houston should at least take the stress out of finding somewhere to spend your stay.

9 Top Picks For Kid-Friendly Hotels in Houston, TX

Having stayed in Houston for many reasons, I have, on many occasions, been in a position where I’ve needed to find kid-friendly hotels to visit with my family. I’ve had some interesting experiences, some great, and some not-so-much.

So, I thought I’d use my knowledge to help others in this situation to find the perfect kid-friendly hotels in Houston that will suit the entire family.

There are some great destinations included, and I have made sure to find spots with loads on offer to keep the kids entertained, such as evening activities, buffets, swimming pools, and nearby attractions.

I have also included some Houston hotels which welcome kids for free, which is great if you want to keep your money back for more important things such as days out and meals. After all, traveling with kids is never cheap.

On the pricing side, I have done my best to give you the most accurate price per night I can. However, please consider that this could vary depending on when you travel and the type of rooms you require.

So, let’s take a look.

1. The Post Oak Hotel

The Post Oak Hotel

Price Per night$547.00

I will start my reviews with The Post Oak Hotel, which is an excellent hotel for a special occasion or if you’re feeling you want to splash out and experience something lavish for your family trip.

Okay, so by the time you’ve forked out your room prices for you and the kids, it might be a bit pricey. However, you won’t be left feeling short-changed, as this hotel is spectacular and gives you your money’s worth.

First, there is tons of stuff for the kids to do, such as evening activities within the hotel and a children’s buffet. Also, outside of the hotel itself, some great destinations make for a fabulous day out with the kids, such as the Pinto Ranch, which I just love, kids or no kids. This is also a brilliant spot if you’ve never been to Houston before, as you can get involved in an authentic Texan experience.

Nearby restaurants include Willie G’s Seafood and Mastro’s Steakhouse, which are both superb. However, I would highly recommend eating at the hotel at least once because the restaurant is delightful.

They have a breathtaking pool area, which you’ll find difficult to drag yourself away from. It’s a stunning place to relax in the evening (if the kids will allow it) and is dimly lit with blue lights, creating a beautiful ambiance.

There is so much I can say about this hotel. I could be here all day, but I want to keep things moving along. All I will say is add this hotel to your bucket list and see for yourself. You won’t be disappointed.

2. Hotel Granduca Houston

Hotel Granduca Houston
Address1080 Uptown Park Boulevard, Houston, TX 77056
Websitewww.granducahouston.com
Tel281-519-3202
Price Per night$428.00
View on Booking.com

Hotel Granduca is not a hotel I’ve had the pleasure of returning to since my first visit. Still, it’s certainly on my list of places to return to when the chance arises, and for many good reasons.

Firstly, if you love class, style, and grandeur, this place will immediately impress you from the minute you walk in. The lobby area is something you’d expect to see in a movie, with chandeliers, boujee decor, traditional, classic furniture, and cozy lighting.

Despite being exceptionally upper class, it still offers that warm, homely feeling that makes staying in a hotel a joy, the staff is welcoming, and the rooms are comfortable, with stunning furniture and a relaxing vibe that makes you look forward to returning to your room.

Despite the lavish style here, this hotel is pretty kid-friendly. Okay, so they don’t offer child minding and kids’ parties in the evening. Still, the staff is extremely accommodating in making you feel welcome with children.

The hotel offers valet parking, free WiFi, and an on-site restaurant, amongst many other things. One thing I would say is if you’re planning on dining with the kids in tow, you might want to try other nearby restaurants. Although the on-site eatery is stunning, it doesn’t give off kid-friendly vibes, and some may feel a little uncomfortable by the setting, especially with very young children. However, there are many places nearby, and I can personally recommend North Italia, which is just a 15-minute walk from the hotel.

Suppose you’re looking for elegance, and want to treat your kids to something a little more grown-up compared to the usual kid-friendly hotels in Houston. In that case, Hotel Granduca might be your next destination for a family vacation.

It’s most well-known for its sublime decor and elaborate guest rooms, which all have marble flooring, a minibar (perfect for when the kids have gone to bed,) a whirlpool bathtub, and plenty of other added extras.

Regarding facilities for the children, I would say this hotel is best suited to those with older kids rather than little ones, as it’s not the most child-friendly. If you’re looking for sophistication but like to keep things on the more casual side of luxury, then this hotel will probably be the perfect location for your next family break. It is also one of the only AAA Four Diamond hotels in the city, adding something extra special to your vacation.

What I love the most about this gorgeous hotel is its welcoming feeling and relaxed, casual vibe, despite being an extremely upmarket destination. You’re never made to feel out of place for having the kids with you, and the clientele is a completely mixed bag. I always find hotels that are full of business folk can sometimes feel a little uncomfortable when you’re trying to enjoy a stay with the kids.

The rooms are fabulous, with air conditioning, daily housekeeping, a flatscreen TV, and a refrigerator. They’re spacious, light, airy, and comfortable, and the modern, contemporary decor from the rest of the hotel continues within them.

There are some tremendous on-site spots for food and drink, such as the Axis Lounge and the ARA. However, if you wish to go further afield, Grotto Ristorante is just down the street, serves some amazing Italian food, and is very child-friendly.

This kid-friendly hotel welcomes families and offers a welcoming environment to everyone who stays. I always leave here looking forward to my next stay.

The hotel has a swimming pool, an on-site restaurant, and free parking. It is also pet-friendly, so feel free to bring your four-legged friend for the trip.
