10 Best Hotels With Free Parking in Houston, TX

Parking in Houston, especially in the city center, can be a nightmare, and paying for it on top of everything else you splash out on during a vacation is something I can relate to.

After many years in and out of the city, I have become quite savvy when it comes to finding hotels with free parking in Houston. I believe that, especially in the current climate, there are much better ways to spend my money when I’m away from home. I thought I’d share this useful information with as many people as I could.

So during this guide to the best hotels in Houston with free parking, you can rest assured that you’ve got plenty of spending money left to utilize on the more important parts of your trip, such as fantastic food and days out with the family, after all, that’s what a vacation is really about.

10 Best Houston Hotels With Free Parking

Throughout this guide, I am going to be sharing my personal experiences with each of these hotels and telling you about everything they have to offer.

All of these Houston hotels have a free parking option, so whichever one you pick for your next business trip or vacation, you can have faith that the worry of paying for daily parking will be none existent.

The other things I will tell you about are the hotel’s facilities, activities, and dining options. I will also brief you on some of the best nearby destinations so you can plan your trip down to the last detail.

Lastly, you’ll see that I have given you a price per night for each hotel. However, please only use this as a guideline, not a set price. The cost of the rooms changes regularly and can vary depending on the time of year your travel and the space you choose.

So, let’s take a look.

1. Courtyard by Marriott Houston Intercontinental Airport

Out of all the Courtyard Marriott hotels I have had the pleasure of staying at over my years visiting Houston, this one is probably one of the best, mainly because I am always bowled over by the fantastic service provided by every member of the staff.

On top of this, the rooms are comfortable, spacious, cool, and soundproof, which are all major box tickers for me when I am looking for a peaceful night’s stay anywhere.

There is a laundry service on site which always comes in handy, especially if you’re there for a more extended stay, and the charge for this is just a couple of dollars.

The free parking is easily accessible and plentiful, and the hotel is in the perfect location to get to the airport. There is also a shuttle service available should you want to leave the car behind at any point.

In the lobby area, you can have tea, coffee, bar snacks, and alcohol, an on-site restaurant with a limited but nice menu, and a few selections available for breakfast.

Unfortunately for me, there isn’t much in the area of other places to eat, which means, being the foodie that I am, I have to travel further into Houston to get a good meal out of the hotel; not a deal breaker as such, but a personal niggle of mine that does push me to other hotels if I’m not concerned about staying near the airport.

SpringHill Suites always impress me with their immense amount of facilities and services on offer, and this one is no different, even though it’s an airport hotel designed for convenience.

The Westin Oaks at the Galleria Houston has been recently renovated, which means they’re fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, such as their impressive modern gym, which consists of all the free weights you need. I was impressed to see they even have a Peloton bike in there.

The hotel itself is exceptionally magnificent. The decor, architecture, and furniture all play a part in making it feel classy and grand and make you feel as though you have an exclusive experience.

The staff are incredibly accommodating and will go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfect. If you’re visiting for a special occasion, they will do everything they can to make your experience as special as possible.

The rooms are spacious, spotless, and a delight to stay in, and the king-size beds are soft and comfortable.

There are loads of restaurants in the area, and I can highly recommend Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, which is just a couple of minutes walk from the hotel. However, I also can’t speak highly enough about the on-site restaurant at this hotel, they serve locally sourced American dishes with a twist, and there is also a lobby bar where you can enjoy some terrific cocktails.

Dinner delivery from the restaurant to your room does end between 6:00 pm and 7:00 pm, so bear this in mind if you’re thinking of ordering in.

I only stayed at this GreenTree Houston Hotel one time when I was traveling for a work meeting that meant me landing and flying from Hobby Airport, so when I booked, I was only looking for something low-cost, basic, comfortable, and mainly convenient, as I was on a strict time scale.

I was pleasantly surprised as soon as I arrived at the hotel and was greeted by an extremely friendly member of staff who welcomed me to the hotel, explained what was available and where everything was in thorough detail, and even suggested various dinner options for me to enjoy that evening.

The room was clean and provided everything I needed, including a space to do my paperwork. In this small area, I could enjoy my breakfast before my meeting and a wake-up service.

I didn’t eat out on this occasion, as I didn’t have the time. However, during my cab ride, I noticed many lovely-looking restaurants nearby. I have tried one in particular in the past called the Crawfish Pot N Oyster Bar, which serves some fantastic, fresh seafood.

The Cambria is brand spanking new and just oozes contemporary style. Its impressive stature on the outside is attractive and intriguing. Once you set foot inside, you’re greeted with a dashing interior, highly polished fixtures and fittings, and something eye-catching around every corner. It’s one of my favorite hotels in terms of style in the city.

The rooms are pristine, with crisp white linens, modern furniture, and a large flat-screen TV, and they’re perfectly lit.

The hotel is well located, close to the Theater District and some of Houston’s other most popular destinations, such as the Houston Space Center and Discovery Green. There are also some highly recommended restaurants within walking distance, such as Vic & Anthony’s Steakhouse and Xochi, a beautiful and colorful Mexican restaurant serving some fantastic dishes, including one of the best lamb shanks in the area.

I have certainly stayed in many Holiday Inns over the years, I always find them to be a fail-safe in terms of comfort, necessities, and satisfaction, and the Holiday Inn Houston Downtown ticks all of those boxes.

The hotel is located right in the heart of Downtown Houston, meaning that you’re near some of the city’s main attractions, such as the George R. Brown Convention Center, Memorial Park, and Buffalo Bayou. There is also a great club scene in the area, where you can enjoy a brilliant night out should you wish.

The Metrorail is right across the street, so if you want to venture further out than Downtown Houston and see what the rest of the city offers, this can be done cheaply and easily.

One thing that stood out the most to me at this Holiday Inn is the quality of the breakfast, it’s not what you’d expect from a budget hotel, and there are tons of options. You have the chance to make your waffles. I haven’t done this myself, but it looked like a lot of fun. The breakfast selections change daily, which keeps things fresh and interesting.

Sticking on the pricey pathway as I come to the end of my Houston hotel reviews, I couldn’t write this guide without talking about the Westin at the Medical Center.

This hotel is the epitome of glamor, and you can rest assured that you’ll be receiving five-star treatment from the moment you arrive to the second you leave, and that’s mainly down to the remarkable staff, who will assist you at any time throughout your stay.

The rooms are very modern, crisp, and clean-looking, with a lot of white furnishings and modern decor. They’re all equipped with a sofa bed, dining area, workspace, living area, and a private bathroom. They also have tons of added extras, such as a refrigerator, on-demand movies, and complimentary toiletries, and I would personally recommend that when booking, you request a room with a city view. It’s stunning to open the drapes in the morning as the sun’s coming up.

Dining options are plentiful, with some fabulous on-site restaurants and loads to choose from nearby. The complimentary breakfast is also of a very high standard, and there are plenty of selections.

Nearby attractions include Hermann Park, the Japanese Gardens, and one of my all-time favorites, the Houston Zoo, which you simply must visit if you’ve never been before, whether you’ve got the kids with you or not.

Ending my guide on a more budget-friendly hotel is the Holiday Inn Express and Suites at Beltway 8, which is conveniently located just five minutes drive away from George Bush Intercontinental Airport, handy if you like to avoid that long commute after a flight or have an early plane to catch. They also have a reliable shuttle service that runs most of the day and late into the evening.

The hotel is pretty new, so everything inside is modern, clean, and feels fresh and on-trend. They also have a fully-equipped fitness center with everything you need for daily workouts.

Nearby is another of my absolute favorite places to visit when I’m in Houston, the Splashtown Waterpark, which I suggest you spend at least one day during your trip, no matter what you’re in town for.

This hotel has a lot to offer for the price, and the staff all strive to provide a five-star service from start to finish, despite it only being a three-star hotel.

The rooms are airy, spacious, and comfortable, and I love the fact they offer you soft or hard pillows. It’s the little things like that which make a difference, in my opinion.

There is an excellent breakfast available in the morning, with many options, including fresh bagels, oatmeal, fresh fruit, pancakes, and a selection of sausages.
