1. The Heights House Hotel

The Heights House Hotel
Address100 W Cavalcade Street, Houston, TX 77009

Price per Night$93.00

Despite this hotel’s reputation being tainted from the past, I’d say the new owners have done a phenomenal job of transforming the rundown motel into one of the most artistic and culturally vibrant scenes in the Heights.

The hotel’s history is equally fascinating, as it was once a site that most people had given up on years ago. However, in 2019, two ambitious men, Jivar Foty and George Giannukos, took a chance on this site and turned it into a social and historically significant landmark for the Heights area.

I was taken about by the unique and charming design as soon as I arrived. Everywhere was beautifully decorated with vintage furniture, and the artwork on the walls was stunning.

My experience was made exceptionally special, largely down to the amazing staff, who were at my beck and call for anything I needed at any time. Not that I ask a lot, but it’s great to know there’s always someone on hand, isn’t it?

The location was probably the thing I loved the most, it’s surrounded by restaurants, bars, and shops, so I never had to travel far to get a decent meal.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Heights House Hotel to anyone looking for a unique and memorable stay in Houston. The history, architecture, and location make this a truly unique accommodation for me, and I’ll be back for sure!

The inn has a charming character of a historic home combined with the elegance and luxury of a boutique hotel, which made me feel like a VIP during my stay.

The location is ideal as it’s only 4 miles from downtown and close to many local Texas-acclaimed restaurants, so I never ran out of things to do or delicious food to try.

Although breakfast is not served, there are many great breakfast places in the Heights that I visited and loved.

The housekeeping staff did a thorough job of cleaning the rooms and common areas, and the innkeepers were available via phone whenever I had any questions.
