1. Hearsay On The Green

Hearsay On The Green
Address1515 Dallas St, Houston, Texas, USA
Websitewww.hearsayonthegreen.com
FoodTacos, wagyu dog, steak, deviled eggs, soup and salad, charcuterie board
Our RecommendationGrilled Chicken Sandwich and charcuterie board

Located near discovery green in the convention district, Hearsay celebrates American cuisine in an atmospheric and historic setting. Its wood-paneled artwork and vaulted ceilings give it a unique feel while dining.

Here you will find some seriously sophisticated dishes, such as wagyu steak, buffalo shrimp, and Angus rib-eye. But, what we came here for was the grilled chicken sandwich. It was served on focaccia bread, with crispy lettuce, mozzarella, bacon, avocado, chipotle, and tomato, with rosemary and parmesan fry mix.

The chicken sandwich was priced at $15.00. Although it may seem a lot, a sandwich of this standard is most definitely not overpriced and worth every penny.

We recommended the amazing charcuterie board for anyone you may be dining with not wanting the chicken sandwich. This consisted of Bavarian pretzels, sliced beef brisket, prosciutto ham, capicola, seasonal cheeses, fruit, nuts, olives, and a homemade cheese sauce, with wholegrain mustard. It was priced at $18 or $24, depending on the size.

Our RecommendationGrilled Pesto Chicken Sandwich and Pineapple Shrimp Tacos

Dish Society is conveniently located, making it an ideal spot for lunch or a grab on the go during your lunch break. Their menu is light, classy, and plentiful and contains a lot of healthy options.

Of course, we weren’t there for the healthy soups and salads; we wanted to see what was so great about their grilled chicken sandwiches, well to start with, they have two on the menu, but only one of them is named the “house favorite.” It’s clear to see why their grilled chicken sandwich is served on pretzel bread. It was decorated with homemade Texan pecan and basil pesto, Texas goats cheese, tomatoes, and organic greens. And to give a fantastic presentation, everything down to the salad was seasoned perfectly. The chicken was tender and flavorsome, and the bread was perfectly salted.

The staff here were fun and friendly and added to the pleasant experience.

The chicken sandwich was priced at $11.95, served with house chips or a choice of fruit, and you also have the option to add on any of the side dishes for an additional $3.00, such as truffle mac & cheese, or balsamic bacon Brussel sprouts.

Our RecommendationGrilled Chicken Sandwich and Ham and Salami Muffaleta

Jason’s Deli has 250 delis all over the USA. However, this does not take away from the fact they are a long-running family-owned restaurant.

They concentrate a lot on wholesome produce and purchase their stock from reputable and sustainable vendors to create food that tastes good and contains an excellent nutritional value.

Their specialty grilled chicken sandwich is priced at just over $7.00, which is fabulous when you consider the quality of ingredients used to make it. It includes 100% antibiotic-free chicken breast, bacon, Swiss cheese, guacamole, tomatoes, and thousand island dressing. It is served on a toasted multigrain wheat bun.

The rest of the menu has a good selection and covers all preferences. Whether you’re traveling with a vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, or anyone with any other food allergies, they are extremely accommodating to all needs.

Websitewww.cfarestaurant.com
FoodWraps, breakfast, burgers, salads
Our RecommendationChick-Fil-A Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich

Now we couldn’t do a guide on grilled chicken sandwiches without mentioning Chick-Fil-A. They are, of course, the top go-to spots for anything related to “chicken on bread,” and with good reason. Although there is no fancy restaurant or long-winded descriptive menu with elegant sides and toppings, this doesn’t make them any less of a contender. In fact, we would go as far as to say they’re one of the best.

All chicken sandwiches here are exactly what you expect when ordering such a thing. But what you don’t expect is the amount of flavor someone can pack into something so simple.

We decided the overall winner was the grilled chicken club sandwich. This is a lemon and herb marinated, boneless chicken breast fillet, which is grilled, for a tender and juicy backyard-smoked flavor. It is served on a toasted, multigrain brioche bun, with Colby Jack cheese, applewood-smoked bacon, fresh lettuce, and tomato. It’s recommended to have with the Honey Roasted BBQ Sauce.

The sandwiches are all priced below $7.00, some of them being as low as $5.00, but prices vary from time to time, so be sure to check before you visit if this is a factor when choosing where to choose to eat.

Champ burger is a small restaurant/diner with a big personality. The staff and surroundings are fun, and the menu is simple yet sufficient, especially when you’re there for one thing in particular.

There is just one option here for a grilled chicken sandwich, and it does exactly what it says on the tin; it is served on a honey wheat bun with swiss cheese and is priced at just $7.59. This is pretty low in price, in line with the rest of the menu.

They have a selection of other sandwiches and burgers, which are all popular with the locals, and they also have an excellent breakfast menu.

There are a few soft drinks on offer, including four flavors of shake.

6. Smash Burger

Smash Burger

FoodBacon brisket burger, turkey burgers, kids meals, salads
Our RecommendationTruffle Mushroom Swiss Grilled Chicken Sandwich

Smash Burger is a modern restaurant offering a new and refreshing way to enjoy your favorite meals. On their menus, you will find all the nutritional information about each item.

They use some of the freshest ingredients from local farmers and suppliers. This adds to the dining experience when you know that what you’re eating is sustainable, locally sourced, and good for you.

There are multiple choices on the menu for the grilled chicken sandwiches, and we decided that the one that stood out the most was the truffle mushroom swiss. The creaminess of the cheese and the richness of the truffle made this sandwich special. The flavor combinations worked well, the chicken was perfectly charred, and you could tell the bread was as fresh as could be. This was also only priced at $6.59, which we thought was very low-priced. You are certainly able to dine here on a budget.

They also have a good choice of children’s meals, shakes, desserts, and other soft drinks.

Our RecommendationCalifornia Chicken Sandwich

First opening its doors in 2012, Grub Burger Bar opened with the intentions of a fast-paced food restaurant with a chilled-out and casual atmosphere. They have since expanded, with restaurants now reaching from the West-coast to the East-coast.

Their home-baked bread is cooked in-house every hour, so no matter what time you visit, you can guarantee your sandwich will be served on the freshest possible bread. They also make all their sauces in-house.

There are plenty of options for vegetarians, and they are very accommodating for any kind of allergies.

Now let’s talk about that chicken sandwich; this one is served with crispy bacon, Brussel sprouts, chipotle aioli, and ripe avocado. The whole combination of this sandwich worked so well. The creaminess of the avocado, the heat from the chipotle, the saltiness from the chicken, and the juicy bacon, combined, made an enjoyable eating experience.

They have plenty of choices for children, including a fun shakes menu, with shakes such as the Worms and Dirt (Orea and Jelly Worms)

8. Rooster

FoodBahn Mi, build-your-own boxes, rib-eye steak, soups, fried rice, eggrolls
Our RecommendationGrilled Chicken Banh-Mi

Rooster is a fun, homely restaurant serving Vietnamese-style food. People who visit here can get an authentic feel for Vietnamese street food.

One of the selling points of Roosters is their sustainability and authenticity; they pickle all their own vegetables, they use zero trans fats, everything is cut and marinated in-house, and they only use the freshest possible ingredients.

Their primary focus is their famous Banh-Mi (bun me) sandwiches. What these are, is a fusion of French and Vietnamese flavors. Here at Roosters, they are usually served alongside a choice of rice or noodles.

There are many fillings to choose from, but of course, if you’re here reading our guide, you want to know all about the grilled chicken one. This isn’t just any grilled chicken sandwich! Aside from the chicken being perfectly grilled and locally sourced, it’s the toppings that make it what it is, and that will make you come back for more. It is topped with jalapenos, pickled carrots, cucumber, cilantro, soy sauce, and garlic aioli.

The whole combination makes this sandwich one of the best we have tried. The tartness from the pickle, the salt from the soy sauce, and the fresh herbs made it a taste sensation, and you will be back to try the other meat combinations. They also have a good selection of sides, drinks, and vegetarian and vegan options.

The prices here are incredibly reasonable. All of the sandwiches are priced from $6.69 to the most expensive rib-eye, priced at $8.89.
