Our Recommendation: Bo Luc Lac "The Shaking Beef"

Le Colonial is one of our higher-end choices when it comes to our choices of Vietnamese restaurants in Houston. But, we think it is well worth the money.

They have a tremendous variety of dishes available, so there is something for everyone in your party.

The dish that stood out to us was the “Bo Luc Lac” or “Shaking Beef,” which consists of a beautiful caramelized Filet Mignon, served with sustainable green vegetables, watercress, and a lime pepper vinaigrette.

There are also plenty of seafood choices available, such as the Cari Tom, a Green Shrimp Curry, Ca Song, a Spicy Yellow-fin Tuna Tartare, and the Mux Xao Thom a Spicy Calamari Stir-Fry.

Regarding those looking for vegan and vegetarian options, you’ll be pleased to know that there is quite a lot to choose from. You have the Beef Salad, the Tau Hu Kho, a Braised Tofu dish, and the Ca Tim Nuong, a Charred Japanese Eggplant with an exciting mixture of accompaniments.

Main courses range from $12-$48, and you can pick up an excellent salad dish for as little as $10.
