Okay, so I understand that when you’re on vacation, it’s nice to have the option of being waited on hand and foot. Taking a step back from the chores and cooking you do daily at home is the main focus of getting away.
Personally, however, I like to have the option. I don’t always want to be rushed out of bed to catch the early morning buffet that the hotel provides. This is why I always like to ensure that wherever I’m staying is equipped with a kitchenette and cooking essentials.
So, if you like the comforts of home within the confines of your hotel, this guide to the best ten hotels with kitchenettes could be what you’ve been searching for.
10 Best Hotels With Kitchenettes in Houston
Throughout this guide, I’ve been checking out which hotels with kitchenettes are the best in Houston and which have the most to offer in terms of other room facilities. For instance, what appliances do the kitchens include? And are they fully equipped with utensils?
So whether you want a fully cooked breakfast in the morning or are happy with a simple bowl of cornflakes, after reading this guide, you can choose the perfect abode for your stay.
I have also been looking at what else the hotels have to offer outside of the rooms, taking into consideration aspects such as indoor and outdoor pools, hot tubs, spas, and fitness centers.
If you want to eat outside of your room one day, I have also been investigating their other dining options. What’s included with your room price and the quality and content of the breakfast buffet? I’ve made a couple of recommendations for nearby restaurants too.
Lastly, I’ve looked at the prices, so I can give you an idea of what you should expect to spend on your room per night. Although, it is worth mentioning that depending on the time of year you visit and the room you choose, the price can vary widely.
So, let’s look at the best ten hotels in Houston with a kitchenette.
1. Hyatt House Houston Galleria
-
PGHM+M4 Westside, Houston, TX, USA
Close to the most famous shopping mall in Houston, The Galleria, Hyatt House is the perfect location for shopping and visiting the rest of Downtown Houston. Amongst all the hotels in the area, this is probably one of the most sought-after spots, and I can see why.
The hotel’s exterior looks clean, modern, and inviting, and the minute you step inside, the stylish decor continues.
The rooms appear basic but have everything you need, especially for the low price. They’re all fitted with stylish yet compact kitchenettes, including a kettle, microwave, stove, and fridge.
Aside from the kitchenette, there are plenty of other charming touches in the room, such as a charging station, sofa bed, iron, cable TV, and complimentary toiletries.
Near the hotel, there are plenty of favored destinations, such as the Houston Zoo and the famous Museum District. If you fancy yourself as a bit of a history buff or want to learn more about the olden days of Texas, then these are the perfect destinations for you.

2. Extended Stay America Suites – Houston – Galleria – Uptown
-
PHJP+M5 Greenway/Upper Kirby, Houston, TX, USA
Extended Stay America Suites are always a popular choice with travelers visiting Houston for long-term stays because of their convenience and low price. Still, they’re ideal for weekend breaks and family vacations too.
For a budget hotel, I love that they have you covered for every eventuality. That includes all the rooms having a fully-functional kitchenette for you to use at your leisure.
The compact rooms have the layout of a studio apartment, with a living space, bedroom, and kitchen all in one area, separated by a breakfast bar. They also include a separate bathroom and toilet. There is plenty of storage space and a cozy working area with a desk, which will be perfect if you’re traveling for business.
The suites are pet-friendly, so if you’re looking for somewhere to take your four-legged friend for vacation, they’ll be right at home here, with plenty of areas for walking just outside the hotel.
Okay, so these rooms might not be a five-star luxury, but as you can guess for the price, that’s not what they’re promising. The rooms are clean, the staff is welcoming, and the beds are comfortable.
One thing I might add is that if you wish for any cooking utensils, these need to be requested from the front desk. Also, if you require daily housekeeping, this does come at an extra charge. General housekeeping only occurs once every eight days during long-term stays.

5. Athens Hotel & Suites
-
QJ2P+V6 Central Business District, Houston, TX, USA
If you like something a little more intimate in your hotel stays, as opposed to a grand hotel with over a hundred rooms, Athens Hotel & Suites in Houston may be the perfect abode for your upcoming city break.
Something that makes this hotel extremely popular with tourists is the fact that the staff speaks three different languages, Spanish, Greek, and English. It happens to be the only hotel in the Downtown area to do so. Great for anyone traveling from Europe.
A few local points of interest consist of the George R. Brown Convention Center, the Magic, Music, and Mayhem experience. One of my all-time favorite places for a tipple in town is Pete’s Dueling Piano Bar, which you can read more about in my guide to the coolest bars to hang out in Houston.
This hotel is short of nothing, with soundproof rooms, private parking, high-speed WiFi, a cozy shared lounge area, and a beautiful complimentary breakfast, all without breaking the bank.

The suites do have a small kitchenette. However, they don’t have ovens, only microwaves, so be sure to only take food with you that can be cooked in a microwave or stove.
8. Staybridge Suites – Houston – Medical Center, an IHG Hotel
Address | 9000 South Main Street, Houston, TX77025 |
Website | www.ihg.com |
Tel | 346-319-6461 |
Price Per night | $120.00 |
One of my favorite things about Staybridge Suites, in general, is that they’re always situated ideally, close to everything you need. On top of that, I am yet to stay at one where the staff hasn’t been excellent, and this one in Houston Medical Center is no different.
Being close to the medical center makes it the ideal location if you’re receiving treatment or visiting a relative staying at the hospital. You can rest assured that the staff will work hard to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
One of the things that stands out the most for me is the hardworking team that takes care of the housekeeping. There is always someone on the go, keeping on top of the maintenance and ensuring that the rooms are kept up to standard.
If you’re visiting Houston to enjoy a game, then this will also be an ideal spot due to its close proximity to the NRG stadium. It’s literally within walking distance, which means you can leave your car at the hotel and avoid the extortionate stadium parking prices.
At the hotel, they host a social hour in the evenings, which is excellent for getting to know the staff, relaxing, and meeting other guests. Even more perfect if you’re traveling alone and don’t like being cooped in your room for the night.

9. Ramada by Wyndham Houston Intercontinental Airport South

I have stayed at this numerous times when visiting Houston on a short-term stay and looking for a budget night. Each time I have been pleasantly surprised at what you get for such a small cost.
Located right by Houston’s Intercontinental Airport, you’re in the prime spot to catch a flight. You won’t have far to go if you’re flying into Houston for your trip. I hate nothing more than a long cab ride after arriving at my destination; (it’s one of my pet peeves). They also offer a reliable shuttle service to and from the airport, which is handy.
The hotel has many creature comforts, such as a microwave, flatscreen TV, and comfortable sofa. Some of them even have a jacuzzi in the rooms, though I haven’t had the pleasure of having one of these rooms.
Being someone whose main hobby is eating when traveling, one of the things that always brings me back to the hotel is the fact there is a restaurant across the street called the Hot Biscuit. It is open 24 hours a day, and not only that, but it serves some fabulous food. I highly recommend their cooked breakfast. They serve some of the best french toast I’ve ever had.
There is a breakfast option at the hotel, although, in my opinion, the selection is minimal. However, everything is fresh and tasty, nothing really to write home about or complain about.

Holiday Inn is a hotel company that I regularly use. They’re a great, low-budget option that seems to stay consistent no matter which one you visit in the world.
This one in Downtown Houston is in the perfect location for me, as I often travel for work, and it’s the ideal location for easy access to the business parks and Energy Corridor. I also find it highly convenient that the Metrorail is right over the street.
If you’re traveling for pleasure only, you’re also in the perfect spot with easy access to some of Houston’s best restaurants, nightclubs, and exciting attractions. There are places such as the Police Museum and the Historic District, which you must visit if you get the chance. It’s one of my favorite attributes of Houston.
The kitchenettes in the rooms are a great added touch if you don’t want to venture out to one of the nearby restaurants. This means you can take food back to the accommodation and enjoy an evening of peace in your private space.
