7 Places to Have The Best Cinnamon Rolls in Houston, TX

I don’t know about you, but I think I could recognize the smell of a cinnamon roll store from miles away, no matter where I am in the world. That comforting smell always brings back memories of being back home in the kitchen, being covered in cinnamon sugar from baking as a child. Ah, the nostalgia gets me every time I get a whiff of the sweet cinnamon scent.

I am not ashamed to admit that I jumped at the chance to put together this guide to the best places to have cinnamon rolls in Houston. I was out on the streets in the blink of an eye, though, let’s face it, we all know there wasn’t much research needed.

Having been in Houston for a while now, I had tried every spot in the city that serves cinnamon rolls, but I thought it best to check again for research, of course.

My Top Picks For The Best Cinnamon Rolls in Houston

Throughout this guide, I have listed my favorite seven best places to have cinnamon rolls in Houston. I will be telling you my best-loved aspects about each spot.

I had to peel away from the sugary buns while visiting each place to take a closer peek at what else they offer.

I have looked at their service and what other people have to say about their experiences with each store.

Lastly, I have made a note of pricing. Personally, no price is too high for the perfect cinnamon roll, but we all have those days when we need to tighten the purse strings a little and look for the lowest-cost option, so I’ve made sure to keep my choices varied.

So, let’s look at the best places in Houston to get cinnamon rolls.

1. Cinnamon’s Bakery

Cinnamon Roll Price$3.85

Saturday - Sunday: 7:00 am - 1:00 pm

Kicking off my reviews with some of the tastiest cinnamon rolls in Houston comes Cinnamon’s Bakery. I started with this place because if you’re craving the classical, old-school style cinnamon roll, then this is where you will find it.

I love everything about this place, but I mainly love the feeling you get while there, the feeling of being in your grandma’s kitchen, and the vintage vibes.

The cinnamon buns are made fresh, in-house, throughout the day, so whatever time of day you pick up your cinnamon roll will be warm right out of the oven.

The service is fabulous, friendly and welcoming, of which I don’t think you can ask for much more, and there is ample parking at the nearby shopping mall.

Overall, if you want a traditional-style bakery for your cinnamon rolls in Houston, this is the place to head for.

Cinnamon Roll Price$15.00

Okay, so Sweet Rockin Rolls isn’t a store you can sit in to enjoy your cinnamon roll. You will have to be in the right place at the right time you get your hands on their incredible cinnamon buns, but when you do, it’ll be worth it.

Popping up at markets all over Houston throughout the year, these guys are in high demand.

Their cinnamon rolls are a tad more expensive than the ones you might get from your local Houston bakery. However, this is because they are large sharing ones, covered in oozing cinnamon frosting, and available in a wide variety of flavors, such as orange, chocolate chip, and blueberry.

They also sell some fantastic kolaches, with sausage, cheese, and jalapeno, amongst other fillings.

Try their fantastic dinner rolls in flavors such as garlic butter, mozzarella, jalapeno, and cheddar for something different.

If you have an upcoming special occasion, try the birthday cinnamon roll pan.

The team who put together Sweet Rockin Rolls is highly passionate about their business, and this shows in the quality of the baking and products they sell. All their cinnamon rolls, cakes, and bread are made from scratch, by hand, using their old family recipes.

Friday: 8:00 am - 10:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday - Closed

Cinnaholic is a local bakery where you can find some of the best gourmet cinnamon rolls in the city and amazing homemade cookies, brownies, and cookie dough.

What makes Cinnaholic one of my all-time favorite spots for cinnamon rolls in Houston is the fact that they offer so many different flavors of topping and frosting. Over 40, to be precise, you try something new on every visit.

Some epic flavors include campfire s’mores, cookie monster, sparkleberry, spiced apple cobbler, and Irish coffee and cream. Let me tell you; it’s near impossible to pick a favorite as they’re all outstanding. However, I recently opted for a caramel apple pie flavor, and I think it just about peeked as the best one yet.

If you don’t want to select one of the menu flavors, you also have the option to build your own. Choose from a large selection of frostings, such as cheesecake, almond, chai, or peanut butter, to name a few. Next, you can add as many toppings as you like from a selection of items such as strawberry jam, pumpkin bread bites, popcorn, or pie crumble.

The option to build and customize these epic cinnamon rolls tips this bakery to what I believe to be one of the best in the city. Okay, so it might cost you a bit more to do it, but the epic outcome will be worth every penny. They also make for a great Instagram photo.

The owners and staff here are also extremely welcoming and attentive and add to the pleasant experience of your visit.

Saturday: 8:00 am -12:00 pm
Sunday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm

This has to be one of the best bakeries in Houston. You’ll want to be heading down to La Sicilia Italian Bakery & Cafe. Not just for their out-of-this-world cinnamon rolls but for just about everything else they have on the menu.

Out of everything I have tried at this quaint Italian bakery, I can honestly say everything is delicious, from the cinnamon rolls to the focaccia bread and from the cannolis to the cornettos. Imagine every sweet Italian treat you can think of, and you’ll likely find it baked to the highest standard here.

This is an Italian haven for food. I recommend coming here for lunch and getting your cinnamon roll for dessert.

The menu includes avocado toast, cornetto, pesto basil baguettes, and spicy Italian focaccia. The chef here is dedicated to serving high-quality, classic dishes with a twist and goes above and beyond with his innovative and daring recipes. Still, with 20 years of experience, he knows exactly what he’s doing, and his menus are always a big hit.

They also make special occasion cakes, which I didn’t find out about until recently.

Cinnamon Roll Price$7.00
Opening TimesMonday - Friday: 6:30 am - 6:00 pm
Saturday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Sunday: 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Sinfull bakery is Houston’s first-ever vegan bakery. If you’re constantly wondering where to indulge in vegan items such as rich flavored coffees, pastries, and cinnamon buns, get yourself down to this quaint little spot as your next given opportunity.

You might have seen Sinfull bakery products in other stores across the city. However, nothing quite beats visiting their location on Webster Street.

The cinnamon rolls here are massive, so expect to be taking some home for later in the day.

They also do a cinnamon roll-flavored latte, which is stunning. However, I wouldn’t advise it on the side of your roll; it might be a bit of an overkill, so perhaps save that one for another occasion.

The bakery inside is super quaint and welcoming, and the staff is very kind and helpful in assisting you with any requirements from the menu.

One of the most amazing things about this place is that if you hadn’t read the label and didn’t already know. There is no way you would ever know that their products are vegetarian or vegan. I didn’t have the highest expectations on my first visit, being a lover of all things cream and butter, but I can honestly say it was better than some of the non-vegan ones I’ve had at other places.

Aside from the cinnamon buns, they also have plenty of other items on the menu, such as the pizza kolache, strawberry rhubarb pop tarts, portobello mushroom, bell pepper quiche, and some fantastic monkey bread.

I highly recommend the sweet and spicy pretzel breakfast sandwich if you visit earlier in the day.

Manna Bread from Heaven is a stunning little bakery just a 30-minute drive from Houston’s city center and has been in business since 2017. The owner, Christin, has been perfecting her traditional family recipes to bring some of the best bakes to the people of Texas.

Christin is dedicated to her business and is popular within the community with many returning customers. She’s a highly respected philanthropist and prides herself in educating people from her own travel experiences.

As well as the amazing cinnamon rolls, you will also find some beautiful bakes, such as artisan bread, homemade soups, and epic pastries.

The decor inside the cafe is stunning and feels extremely cozy. With dark wooden pallets, heavy leather furniture, and wood-paneled walls, it feels like a really old, traditional bakery.

There are many dietary options, too, such as gluten-free and vegan, and they even offer a keto cinnamon roll, which I’ve never seen anywhere else. I am yet to try them, but word on the street is that they’re fantastic.

The traditional cinnamon buns they have are fabulous, drenched in rich, sweet frosting, and big enough to share (if you can bring yourself to do so).

Cinnamon Roll Price$5.25
Opening TimesMonday - Sunday: 7:00 am - 9:00 pm

Tiny’s Milk and Cookies may not be the first place people think of when they’re looking for somewhere to get a cinnamon roll in Houston. It is because they are so well-known for their magnificent cookies, but don’t let this fool you. The cinnamon rolls here are to die for.

Aside from tasting marvelous, the cinnamon rolls are a decent size, have a low price, are exceptionally fresh, and are fluffy.

Other things on the menu here, along with the cookies and cinnamon rolls, include cheese and ham croissants, baker’s sandwiches, sausage biscuits, and some beautiful rosemary scones.

The baker’s sandwich is an excellent choice if you want something savory before you indulge in your cinnamon roll. It’s made with rosemary ham and dijon butter and served in a croissant, and it is exceptional.
